Peter Forbes
(Western District and Archdiocese of Glasgow) Born at Tomintoul, 23rd August 1843, the son of John Forbes and Catherine McDonald, and brother of Mgr. Henry Forbes, rector, Bearsden; ordained a priest in bishop’s private chapel, Valladolid, 6th June 1868, and left for Scotland, 14th June 1868; retired in ill health, 1896, and died at Clarkston, 2nd June 1933.

The Rev. Peter Forbes was born in Tomintoul, Banffshire, on the 23d August 1843; entered Blairs College, 14th July 1856; was sent to the Scots College of Valladolid in September 1862. He received the Tonsure and Minor Orders on the 6th, and the Sub-deaconship on 7th March. He was ordained Deacon on 17th May, and Priest on 6th June 1868. These orders he received - from the Cardinal Archbishop of Valladolid. On his return to Scotland, he was stationed at St Mary ’s Church, Glasgow.
